Pontrhydfendigaid is literally translated as the Bridge of the Blessed Ford, but is affectionately referred to as Bont. The village is located at the heart of the beautiful scenery of mid Wales. Nearby there are several attractions including the ruins of the Cistercian Monastery : Strata Florida Abbey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strata_Florida_Abbey which is within walking distance of the Pavilion. The area is popular with ramblers and a popular walk starts from Strata Florida Abbey up to Teifi Pools - and it is from the largest of these lakes : Llyn Teifi that the Teifi River begins it's journey through the county of Ceredigion. Cors Caron, a wetland peat bog, is another popular attraction and situated just a few minutes drive from Bont - this nature reserve owned by the Countryside Council for Wales also features board walks and bird hides and is the perfect place to spot a number of rare species and wildlife.
